A Rainy Spring Wedding at The Barn at Stoneybrooke | Jessica + Nathan | April, 25, 2026
Jenn texted me on a Saturday in February 2025 while I was on vacation in the Caribbean: “You booked with Jess and Nate! You’re going to LOVE them, and I’m the coordinator that day!” I’ve been looking forward to their wedding day ever since. It feels like an eternity since their gorgeous engagement session at their venue, The Barn at Stoneybrooke, back in July 2025. They dressed to the nines and enjoyed every moment, just as they did on their wedding day this past Saturday. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t as perfect as it was for their engagement shoot. It rained almost all day. The only outdoor photos we could take were with the guys, warm in their jackets. It was unseasonably cold, with mist or rain all day long. While it’s not what anyone wants for their wedding day, I didn’t hear either Jess or Nate complain or even mention it once — not once! Sometimes, it’s better to know you have a rain plan from the beginning than to go through the pain of waiting and hoping until the last minute. I have to brag about my favorite venue—the rain plan at Stoneybrooke is fantastic. I’m really happy with how their photos turned out. I hope you agree. Other than the rain, the day went wonderfully! Honestly, being indoors all day makes things easier for everyone — even the couple! My two favorite moments were 1. Jess’s first look with her dad and their secret handshake, and 2. the way Nate’s heart melted when he saw Jess walking down the aisle to him. So precious. I’m a sucker for emotional men! The groomsmen were also fantastic. When I see a long list of groomsmen, I can’t help but wonder how everything will go. These guys are not only handsome and fun, but they’re also very easy to work with and incredibly kind. They followed instructions perfectly, and I’m just so happy with how everything turned out. I don’t often photograph wedding days without a second photographer, so when I have that many wedding party members to manage on my own, it’s such a relief to work with such fun people.
Every vendor stepped up to do their part for the team, and I’m so grateful to work with these talented individuals and businesses. Make sure to scroll to the bottom for a list of everyone who worked so hard and brought life to this wedding day.
Jess and Nate,
Oh wow, how sweet you two are! It was fun to see Jess go from poised and reserved, a little nervous, to bold and relaxed after the ceremony. She needed you, Nate! Both of you come from a strong foundation of supportive families and a caring community within your church. With all that backing you up, you’re destined to succeed. I can’t wait to see your relationship blossom with all that encouragement behind you, cheering you on.
I hope you two are having the time of your lives on your honeymoon. If you get a chance to read this blog amid all the fun, I hope you enjoy the highlight photos I’ve included here. There will be a surprise in your inbox later today, so be sure to check it when you get a chance. 🥰
Hugs,
Megan
