A Summer Engagement Session at The Barn at Stoneybrooke | Jess + Nathan | July 10, 2025
Jessica’s favorite flower is the hydrangea. Nathan even proposed next to a beautiful hydrangea, knowing this fact. Good thing she and Nathan chose the picturesque The Barn at Stoneybrooke in Atglen, PA, for their wedding and engagement venue. The hydrangeas there are unmatched in splendor and beauty. At least, I’ve always thought so until I saw Jessica and Nathan in comparison to the beautiful flowers. The gorgeous white puffs paled in comparison to Jessica and Nathan’s love. It radiates from their very souls.
Sweet and kind, thoughtful and very intelligent are how I would describe these two beautiful humans. We arrived at Stoneybrooke a few minutes before 5:00 p.m. We decided to move their session earlier, anticipating clouds and storms in the evening, but none of those occurred. Because we moved the session up, there was a rehearsal wrapping up at Stoneybrooke when we arrived. The guys wore full suits, and the girls were in flowing dresses. Guys, I highly recommend taking rehearsals a little more casually and having fun with it! Full suits in 90-degree heat is a bit much for not being the actual wedding day. 😉
Jess and Nate flaunted their outfits, from the perfectly fitted bow-tie back dress to their new white shoes; they arrived at their engagement session ready to make headlines. And they did. I often tell my clients that they don’t need to be “photogenic.” It’s basically a myth. But Jessica and Nathan made me eat my words. I can’t tell you how many times I had to say to them, “Wait for me!” when Nate looked at her adoringly and stole a kiss. But seriously, I am here to give precise instructions to create images that visually capture your feelings for each other, whether or not I need to help you in front of the camera. Most people do need a lot of help—myself included!
Jessica and Nathan will get married at The Barn at Stoneybrooke next April. I can't wait to meet all their friends and family. If they are anything like Jessica and Nathan, we're going to have one amazing celebration!

I can count on one hand the clients I've hung out with outside of their sessions or weddings. Now, you are one of the few! It was so fun to spontaneously head to Victory after your shoot for a drink and dinner. Thank you for letting me take some of your precious time to connect on a deeper level.
