A Summer Valley Forge National Park Maternity Session for Heather and Nicholas | August 30, 2025
“I wouldn’t trust anyone else with these photos.” - Heather.
These two. 🥰 It’s surreal that after their wedding at Pine Crest Country Club in April 2024, I’m now sharing photos from their maternity session at Valley Forge National Park. It was a perfect evening. Heather and Nicholas radiated joy, basking in the sun’s warm embrace on this beautiful August evening, as they took time during Heather’s busy season to document this special moment in their lives with me. Apparently, Nicholas has been busy too. He’s been away on business for the past three weeks, getting everything in order so he can fully experience the transition into parenthood with his wife when it happens in October.
Heather looked radiant! I loved her two outfit choices. Nicholas was the sweetest, most attentive husband. It was fun to see his eyes light up when he first saw Heather on their wedding day, but watching how he looked at her—the mother of his son—during their maternity photo shoot made my heart nearly explode.
We definitely made the most of our time at the National Park. The light danced across the sky, illuminating everything like fireworks wherever we went. It felt as if nature itself was celebrating in anticipation of this child. Saturdays at popular public spots can be crowded, and this Saturday was no different. At least three other photo sessions were happening at the arch alone. Luckily, PA photographers are so kind and considerate. We all managed to use the space in a way that suited our style of working with the light. I was even surprised to meet one of my former photography students in person for the first time! Such a special moment!
It’s rare to get such perfect conditions for portrait sessions in August. Heather and Nicholas really lucked out, along with all my clients over the past few weeks. We’ve been having such beautiful weather lately! See for yourself by scrolling down. There, you’ll find a sample of photos from this stunning maternity session with some of my favorite people. Enjoy!
Heather and Nick, when you stepped out of the car, I was so excited that you had arrived I almost called out from up the hill. I’ve been a big fan of yours ever since your Longwood Gardens engagement session. Your genuine kindness and sense of humor, along with your exquisite style and good looks, make you ideal clients, and I’m so grateful that you chose me as your lifelong photographer. I hope you love this sample of photos, and since I know how hard it is to wait, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today, so don’t forget to check it!
Hugs,
Megan
