The Barn at Stoneybrooke | An Engagement Photo Shoot | Katelynn + Gabe | August 28, 2025
It’s not every day that your soul sister’s only daughter gets engaged. Photographing Katelynn and her fiancé, Gabe, was a special treat for me in many ways. First and foremost, watching Katelynn grow up so quickly from the senior I photographed just three years ago to the woman about to join hands in marriage was enough to make my head spin when I compared the photo we recreated from her senior portrait at her engagement session. How had she transformed into this gorgeous, confident woman in such a short amount of time?!
Then, I met Gabe, and I knew everything Katelynn’s mom had told me about him was true. He is perfect for Katie. He’s fun, yet sweet, kind, and caring, and also funny and easy to talk to. I’m so happy that Katelynn found her match at such a young age. Think of all the years they will be able to enjoy together throughout their lives. They are the lucky ones.
The second level of “special” was that they held their engagement session not only at their wedding venue, my favorite, The Barn at Stoneybrooke, but also at Katelynn’s childhood home. It also meant I got to stay after the shoot to chat with her mom, Jenn, before saying goodbye to everyone.
Katelynn not only lives on the property but also helps coordinate weddings at the venue. So, don’t be surprised if you see her beautiful face on your wedding day if you attend a Stoneybrooke wedding! I also understand that Gabe’s mom could add wedding photographer to her resume, so it’s a huge understatement to say I’m excited for their big day next May. I am excited to see Katelynn’s side of the family again and to meet Gabe’s family. If his side is anything like Katelynn’s, we are going to have a fantastic day! I’m expecting a traditional celebration with lots of flowers and a slightly different vibe from the usual wedding here in PA. I mean, when you grow up on the property of a popular PA wedding venue, you should be allowed a few exceptions. 😜
Katie and Gabe, I honestly expected more silliness from the two of you, being so young. Still, you truly demonstrated your maturity and candor in every way throughout your photo shoot, and I couldn’t be happier that you found each other. You two have a genuine vibe together that, I believe, will stand the test of time. Thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. I am deeply humbled to be your choice, considering all the wedding experience you have now, Katie. I hope you love this little sample of photos from your summer engagement session at The Barn at Stoneybrooke.
