A Late Fall Engagement Session at Valley Forge National Park | Brianna + Colin | November 16, 2025
Colin didn’t originally plan to propose to Brianna at Valley Forge National Park, but sometimes, the universe has its own plans for you. He intended to propose somewhere else, but unexpected crowds made it feel less right. The next day, while walking at Valley Forge with Brianna’s family—taking their usual group photos—Brianna casually beckoned Colin over. He looked at her, then at her family with their cell phones out, and realized, “This was it!” When she called him a second time, he was spurred into action. He dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. Brianna was so surprised she cried as she said yes to becoming his future wife.
With such a stunning location for the proposal, Brianna knew it would also be their engagement session spot even before she contacted me to schedule it. You might not fully realize the extent of the wind we faced on Sunday to bring their session to life in the pictures below, but “gale-force winds” seems fitting. There was a wind advisory too! I left it up to them to decide whether to reschedule, and I love that they trusted me and went for it. Besides the strong winds, the day was beautiful… probably one of the last semi-warm, sunny fall days of the year. I enjoyed the dazzling golden light of the sunset as we wandered around the Valley Forge Memorial Arch and the surrounding landscape to capture their love.
