The vendor team huddled in the lower level of The Barn at Stoneybrooke at 3:30, speaking in hushed tones. Each of us checked our phones on various weather apps, trying to determine the best course of action for Colleen and Ian’s wedding ceremony, scheduled for 4:00. Rain was sure to hit—hard—at 3:45 and last for about 20 minutes, but we knew Colleen and Ian preferred an outdoor ceremony. Although their indoor option is absolutely stunning, The Barn at Stoneybrooke’s team understands how important an outdoor ceremony can be for some couples. They put their all into making the right decision for the day, taking into account the bride and groom’s desires. I love their hearts for their couples.

The radar indicated that the storm would pass quickly, in about 20 minutes, but another small pocket of rain was heading our way around 30 minutes later. The florals and DJ Mast were already set up outside, so we unanimously decided to delay the ceremony for a few minutes and go for it anyway! After gathering the guests in the lower level to wait out the storm, the entire vendor team went out to dry off the seats while we seated all the guests as quickly as possible. Even though the ceremony was meant to be brief, it would be cutting it close.

We all held our breath and started the ceremony. It was beautiful! A light sprinkle blessed the marriage in the final moments, and everyone got inside for cocktail hour before getting wet. It’s a wedding none of us will ever forget!
