A Middletown, Maryland Winter Wedding — Catholic Style | Rebecca + Bryan | January 24, 2026

The snow was coming—a winter storm that would affect most of the nation, creeping ever closer and wreaking havoc on all in its path. One might think the looming storm would put a damper on Rebecca and Bryan’s wedding day. And while some family members were unable to fly in, you wouldn’t have guessed it from the warmth in the church that day. As the bride’s twin sister, Megan, said in her amazing speech later that day, when these two souls are together, it feels like Christmas in their presence, and it radiates to everyone around them. I was meeting them for the first time that day, and my start time was the ceremony itself. I counted myself lucky to say a quick hello to both of them before they walked down the aisle. And walk they did! With unique style and grace. Rebecca’s cape veil was a showstopper, and Bryan’s cravat—well, let’s just say not many people can pull that look off, but he was always meant to wear one. They are the most interesting couple, and I got the feeling I wasn’t alone in thinking I might be just a little cooler for knowing them.

I had the pleasure of covering four hours of this beautiful day: their ceremony, formal photos of the family and wedding party, husband-and-wife portraits, and the reception’s formal events. I even managed to capture some of the party before heading home to batten down the hatches with my family. And, let me tell you, there’s nothing more fun for a wedding photographer than getting snowed in with a computer full of images to work on. So I’ve spent the past two days watching the snow fall and editing.—The best!

Rebecca and Bryan’s day took place entirely at Holy Family Catholic Church in Middletown, Maryland. It was wonderful for the wedding party and family to get ready right at the church, and for Celebrations to provide catering for all 200 guests in the church’s community room. It was fantastic! I wish more churches had the space for events this large! I’d also like to give a shout-out to the priests and staff at the church. I greatly appreciated all the smiles, jokes, and joyful presence they brought throughout the entire event. Their congregation is lucky to have them.

Becca and Bryan,

Now that I know you, I want to be your friend, too! It’s clear you are a very special couple. Your devotion to your faith and to each other is awe-inspiring. I’m very happy you two went on that pilgrimage together with your church and built such a strong connection, with a solid foundation in your faith. What a story you have to tell! I’m excited for you two to start the next chapter of your lives—together. I hope you love this sample of photos from your lovely wedding day. And because I know how hard it is to wait, there’s an email waiting for you in your inbox. Be sure to check it!

Hugs,

Megan
