Flower Crowns, Toddlers, Bellies and Lovers: an Elizabethtown, PA Family/Maternity Session | The Imes Family
Kai, now 2, was born much earlier than expected so they didn’t have a chance to have maternity photos taken for their first pregnancy. The baby girl Stacey is now carrying is their last (at least that’s the plan at this point), so this was an important session to Stacey and Jut.
All three of them were part of the bridal party of a wedding I shot early last spring so even though they were new clients to me, we were already familiar with each other. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect and the location, marshy at certain times of the year, was stunning giving all it’s beauty to this lovely family.
Kai was, well 2, and not excited to have mom and dad take many photos without him but luckily, I have lots of experience with kids and have a few tricks up my sleeve so we were able to sneak in plenty with and without him. I’m happy to have caught some raw, real moments of mom and son as he became frustrated and tired towards the end of the session. It was bed time. My own children were probably already tucked in at home and here he was soldiering on for that beautiful golden light of sunset. Thank you guys for pushing the limits for these photos.
Stacey’s colorful makeup look and flower crown were the stuff of my dreams and I had a blast creating these beautiful memories for them…an artful representation of this time in their lives. Every single family session I have, I say to my husband, “I wish I could do this for us.” I’m so happy they have these now forever. The woman’s body is such an incredible thing. I wanted to capture that for Stacey. The beauty of being a woman and all the magic and strength it takes to grow a child within our own bodies. For Jut, I wanted to capture the love he has for his family and the beautiful way he cares for his family…he has the best smiling cheeks and I love how he adores Stacey.
Stacey and Jut, thank you for trusting me with this once in a lifetime photo shoot. I have so many amazing shots for you even though we ended 30 minutes early!
