A 25th Anniversary Photo Shoot at Willow Valley Chapel in Lancaster, PA | Angie + Chris | August 24, 2026

At the end of our session, I asked Angie and Chris whether the Chapel at Willow Valley was meaningful to them. There were a couple of logistical reasons, but the main one was to feature a chapel or church in their 25th-anniversary photo shoot to highlight how faith is at the center of their relationship.

Faith

Even though faith is not exactly an adjective, there is no better word to describe this beautiful couple. They have faith in each other because they have faith in their God. They even put their faith in me because some of their closest fellow congregants have trusted me repeatedly for their weddings and portrait sessions. It has been their unwavering faith in both their God and each other that has built this rock-solid relationship over 25 years. As we introduced each other, Chris responded to a question I asked: “As long as I have her (pointing to Angie), I’m good.” He has the sweetest smile when he’s talking about his wife. I’m sure Angie feels the same, whose smile could light up the darkest night. They are so fortunate to have found each other—that their God brought them together to serve their community. From what I understand, they volunteer an enormous amount to their church.

They chose their location well. I’m not gonna lie, it wasn’t easy to get permission to use the Chapel at Willow Valley. Angie was ready to give up on getting ahold of someone, but I encouraged her to stop by the hotel just to see if being in person might elicit an answer one way or another. Thankfully, it did! And I’m so glad she took that extra step because this location was everything. It was the cutest little white chapel, surrounded by flowers and water features, but the best part was the lighting. It couldn’t have been more perfect if I had hand-selected it for that purpose alone. We decided to end there as a finale. We started in Lancaster City to give them a ton of variety in images to choose from. This is always a treat for me. The locations were less than 10 minutes apart, making it entirely doable within their hour-long session. I’m so happy with how their photos turned out. I hope you enjoy them as well! Angie and Chris,

You two really are something special. You have a great sense of humor, and together, you have this spark of light that is felt rather than seen. Thank you for putting your faith in me and for surrendering to the Megan Hoffer process. I’m glad I was able to give you a fun, date-night-like experience. I hope you know I had just as much fun as you did! I hope you love this little sample of your photos. And because I know how hard it can be to wait, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today, so don’t forget to check it!

Hugs,

Megan
