Making Time for Wedding Planning
OVERWHELM. Planning a wedding, even with an excellent planner on your side can be really quite overwhelming. The decisions you need to make seem endless. Things you never thought you could possibly care about are all the sudden putting you over the edge, you’re not making any real progress without it taking your entire weekend and you just want to pull your hair out and get married already!
A Colorful Springlike Wedding at Cameron Estate Inn | Katie + Matthew 3.13.21
I stepped out of my car and inhaled deeply. Though it was still winter the air was crisp with a delicious taste of citrusy spring. The warm sun radiated over the ground at Cameron Estate Inn as it sunk, settling into the trees at the far end of the property, just scraping the tops of the branches as it began to retire for the night. It was Katie and Matt’s wedding day.
It would be a day of introductions. A day of welcome. A day of love.
A Winter Wedding at The Star Barn | Shannon + Thomas | 1.23.21
To be one of 30 to witness a marriage…to be one of the few there…it takes the gratefulness up to a new level of heartwarming.
Cyndie + Kyle’s Parque Ridley Creek Engagement Shoot
Two weeks passed from first contact to meeting at Parque Ridley Creek for their engagement session. Without being able to officially meet in person before booking, it was fun to get to meet in person so soon after our initial emails.
2020 in the Rearview
I’ve been quiet the past few days. It hasn’t really been on purpose but I’ve allowed myself to slip into full family mode over the holiday. We all needed it.
MHP Winter 2020-2021 Updates
Things are looking a little different over here in the Hoffer Household.
Finding Wedding Vendors in 2021
You get what you pay for in almost all things wedding related.
From shoes to photography and everything in between this has held fast until recently. In 2021 there will be a problem with this statement. You may be willing to pay for it…but you can’t find it.
Racing the rain in Elizabethtown, PA | Caroline + Luke Engaged
Sometimes there is rain in the forecast, and we go for it anyway. This time of year, in mid-November can be tough. Rescheduling just means higher chances for colder and colder temps. It’s a rainy season though…
Moving into 2021 with a Plan
There’s a lot of talk going around right now. A lot of uncertainty in the air. It feels heavy. It feels a little scary even. The unknown. It has been a stressful year…a sad one too. I have four kids and they miss their grandparents. They miss their friends. I miss dropping the little ones off with my parents to run to the grocery store for a quiet, thoughtful trip. I miss stopping in at their house and tearing up their living room and the last-minute invites to dinner together in the kitchen I grew up eating in. I miss not breathing through a mask. I miss greeting my clients with a ginormous hug of excitement. I miss having a generous reschedule policy. I miss gathering. I miss community in person. I miss offering free events. I miss packed restaurants chattering with life.
A Fall Mount Gretna, PA Engagement Session | Sydney + Nick
It was chilly this day and the fall foliage that was left…was on the ground for their session. Even so, the sun danced through the trees in a teasing kind of way. It played in Sydney’s hair and competed for attention with Nick. We chased the sunset from location to location as it set making magic everywhere we went.
Summer-like Fall Engagement Session at Fort Hunter Mansion | Kathryn + Brian
We got lucky for this one. It was almost 80 degrees outside for this mid-November engagement session at Fort Hunter Mansion and Park.
The case for the 1/2 Updo
Choosing your hairstyle for your wedding day can be a difficult decision. I hope this helps you think it through a little more.
A Cathedral Wedding Ceremony Followed by a Fall Reception at Historic Ashland | Abigail + Walter 10.17.20
“You can’t make this stuff up people!” A recurring statement from Abigail throughout their Historic Ashland wedding day and the days, weeks and months preceding the day. Abbie posted jokingly on her pages the day before the wedding that the theme of this wedding had been, “Come hell or high water.” It couldn’t have been more fitting.
A Rainy, Fall Wedding at The Barn at Stoneybrooke | Kerri + Michael 10.16.20
“My dad is going to be my best man,” Mike told me during their engagement session. He explained just how much his dad meant to him. It speaks volumes about Mike himself but also right back at his dad. When Bruce approached the microphone for the best man speech,
Fall in the Hollow | Danielle + Paul Engaged
“We are also planning to bring Luna if that is okay. We don’t have anyone to bring along to help but we have a long leash and she’s pretty well behaved.”
“I Because I” and “You Because You”
In these moments that feel so out of control, the key is realizing the difference between the emotion and the need.
A Fall Engagement Shoot in Lancaster, PA | Erin + Adam
No one wants to reschedule for rain and it becomes an even more difficult decision the further away the drive is for the couple.
