A fall wedding at Railroad House Inn in Marietta, PA | Alison + Cole | September 25, 2025

From the moment a client books with me until their wedding day, it’s common for many aspects of their vision to change, but switching venues isn’t usually one of them. Alison and Cole initially booked with me based on a recommendation from a good friend, mentioning one of my favorite venues on their contact form. After careful thought, they decided a smaller venue and a more intimate crowd suited them better. So, they shifted to a Thursday wedding at The Railroad House Inn in Marietta, PA. It was the perfect choice—cozy and charming on a corner of Front Street, right by the Susquehanna River, with a hidden garden-like space accessible through a gate, where couples can celebrate surrounded by beautiful landscaping, enjoy delicious food from a friendly staff who love their work. It doesn’t get much better, and I cherished every moment with them, capturing it all.

You see, Cole and his family aren’t really into photos, while for Alison’s family, there’s no such thing as too many pictures. Without a traditional reception with a DJ and dancing, we spent a good hour taking photos of different people and groups on the lawn. It was so fun! A photographer’s dream come true. The night still ended with dancing to an epic playlist. All the important moments of the day for Alison and Cole fell perfectly into place, including the sunny weather for the ceremony. Alison knew the forecast wasn’t promising and was ready for a tent ceremony, but she hoped the weather would clear all morning. Not only did it not rain, but it was sunny most of the day. As soon as photos wrapped up during cocktail hour, the skies opened up and poured down during the party, crossing “lucky rain” off the list, ending with the most beautiful sunset photos. Alison got all the images she dreamed of, and Cole finally married his sweetheart and caught up with his college friends. From a hair and makeup team that was a dream to delicious food from Railroad House Inn, it was a fantastic day for everyone there. My only regret is not getting a Churro before heading out.
