Daddy-Daughter Dance at Doe Run Elementary
Rita: “It’s the perfect dress, and I know exactly which leggings I’ll wear with it!”
Me: “Wait, what? Honey Bear, you don’t need to wear leggings under this dress. It’s a fancy dress!”
Rita: “But Mom, people will see my underwear when Daddy twirls me around. I’m wearing leggings under it.”
With that, she was off twirling and swaying around, her arms out wide. Rita reported that Daddy did, indeed, twirl her around many times at the Daddy-Daughter dance. And, she was happy she wore the leggings. What can I say, Rita is a vibe, and I love it!
They missed the dance last year because Marc had to take a work trip. She was devastated. To make up for it, he went all out this year with a full suit and even surprised her with flowers. He showed his little girl the night of her dreams. She’s so lucky to have such a great dad.
Watching Marc become a father and then a girl dad has been one of the greatest joys of my life. He loves being a parent and takes the responsibility very seriously. He prioritizes the kids, no matter how tired or how much he would rather watch the game and lounge. He reminds me a lot of my dad!
I must thank my neighbor, Ashley, for braiding Rita’s hair. Rita does not like having her hair styled, especially by me, so Ashley helped Rita’s hair vision come to life to finish off her look. I am so grateful. It looked so good! She refused to take it out, so it stayed braided until it fell out on its own the next day.
To make picture-taking before the dance more fun and normalized for Rita, I invited some other neighborhood girls over to take pictures with their daddies, which was so fun. Rita even got a few photos with her bestie, Hailey, from down the road. Living in a neighborhood where the kids can safely play together outside is so nice.
I hope you enjoy the photos!
