2027 Senior Photo Shoot at Conestoga House and Gardens | Calleigh | June 9, 2026
Getting a first-time experience for my business has become harder now. After a decade, I’ve seen almost everything. Calleigh was an exception this year. She was the first high school senior to schedule her own session. Of course, her mom was involved in the final decision and came to the shoot, but Calleigh did her own research, reached out independently, and managed all the follow-up communication right up to the shoot. I even had to ask her mom’s name when I greeted them! During the shoot, I found out she also spoke with the florist at Central Market herself to order her bouquet. Technically, she wasn’t even a senior when she did all this. She scheduled her senior portrait session for a date right after her junior year was over.
This girl is destined for success! I asked her if she has a focus or interest for her future. She said she’s not 100% sure, but probably something in the medical field. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t surprised. A large percentage of my wedding clients are in the medical field. I think they appreciate my “give you all the information and won’t waste your time (or mine)” mentality when it comes to booking. Lastly, her venue choice? *Chef’s Kiss* Conestoga House and Gardens in Lancaster is one of my favorite portrait session locations in the area. The fact that I know it like the back of my hand certainly came in handy with the limited time we had for their portrait session booking slot. Calleigh was even able to wear three outfits with no major rush.
Calleigh will graduate from Lancaster Mennonite next spring. I bet being an only child makes it tough when it comes to completing her senior year and moving on — both for Calleigh and her parents. With such an independent personality, though, she is sure to succeed in anything she sets her mind to. I bet that helps her parents let go (a little).
Calleigh, it means the world to me that you chose me after researching “every photographer in the area” and reading “all the reviews.” Truly, being chosen by such a bright light in our community means everything to me. I hope you love the little sample of your senior portraits below. And because I know how hard it is to wait, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today, so don’t forget to check it!
Hugs,
Megan
