Janelle + Dave’s Summer in the Willows Engagement Session
“Wait until you see my dress!” she says in a text message that morning. Now, that’s a good way to get me even more excited for your session than I already am (if that’s even possible). You should know that if your dress swishes, 1. I’m probably going to squeal on my tiptoes while clasping my hands together when I see you and, 2. You will probably have more pictures at the end of the day. I LOVE playing with swishy dresses. Maybe it’s a wedding photographer thing. I don’t know.
Janelle and Dave were on fire for their summer engagement session at Wind in the Willows in Grantville, PA. It certainly felt that way too! Even in 93 degrees, they kept smiling and enjoying themselves. We were able to picture their wedding day at Wind in the Willows next May where they will say their I do’s. Wedding days can be rushed and there isn’t always time to walk the entirety of a venue’s expansive grounds for portraits during the allotted 30 minutes on a wedding timeline (adding time to your day for extra portrait time will make me love you forever even more than I already will) so I LOVE when my couples have their engagement session at their venue. We are able to utilize every part of the venue that is fantastic for photos. Wind in the Willows was a dream location for me. It had so many lighting situations I look for in a location: sweeping views, open shade, light colored trees, willows, pond with a dock, airplane. Wow.
Janelle and Dave, you laughed, you sparkled, you swished, you sweated, you rocked your engagement session. It was so neat to have that special moment with you two in the place you will become one. The love you two have for each other is so special. I love how you are able to laugh with each other through everything. It is that laughter and tenderness you have with each other that will keep things light when they could be so heavy. Lola is so lucky to have you two in her life. I can’t wait to meet her!
